DEFECT: The switch within the kit may overheat due to an internal fault; this could result in melting or charring. HAZARD: Fire and electric shock. WHAT TO DO: The switches within the kits with batch date code 17W14 must be replaced. NO OTHER LEGRAND PRODUCTS ARE AFFECTED Product Recall Downloads ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Product Recall – Switches in HWS770/2WE Hot Water Kit Recalled switches 1. Legrand is recalling the switches that were sold as part of a HWS770/2WE Hot Water Kit (HWS770/2WE) between 20 June 2017 and 31 January 2018 (Relevant Period). The Recall Notice is enclosed. 2. Only the switches manufactured in the week 14 of 2017 are defective, but Legrand will replace the switches in all the HWS770/2WEs that have been identified as potentially incorporating the defective switches. The affected HWS770/2WEs were distributed mainly in the Bay of Plenty / Tauranga region. Most were sold to wholesale resellers and then sold on to electrical contractors. 3. Legrand believes that all affected HWS770/2WEs have been on sold. However, if you believe that you still have affected HWS770/2WEs in stock, please return them to Legrand in exchange for a similar product at no costs. 4. No other HWS770/2WEs, switches or Legrand products are affected. 5. All recalled switches must be replaced by a licensed electrical contractor.
